(please note that we are absolutely willing to trade tech support, or do odd jobs in exchange for any work that anyone wants to do for us, if we are unable to pay for it)
- Send us information on any jobs you think we might be able to do.
- Any parts or assistance you can provide for fixing up a 1963 (?or before?) "Field & Stream" 14' travel trailer we just bought (for $200! thanks to some birthday gifts, and some kind donations!).
- The van (1992 Chevy Astro) could really really use a radiator and transmission flush, and a brake check
- Needs new shocks quite badly.
- currently, the radiator is filled with what can be described as "sludge", or, as my brother put it "pudding" (*crosses fingers* it hasn't over heated yet, even though we drive the h**l out of it)
- The brakes have been squeeling lately, something might be wrong with them as well
- Front passenger side window motor no longer works (window won't go down)
- A/C doesn't blow very cold (we assume it needs a freon charge)
- The rear vents only blow cold air, even when the heater is on.
- Lots of electrical issues, (A/C blower has some sort of problem that seems to be related to the connection at the switch, electric locks don't work...)
- Radio doesn't work properly, may be related to the antenna being broken off, but it does weird stuff that might be another issue entirely.
- Fog lights don't work
- While the van runs well, it's not much of a looker, the interior and exterior both are in TERRIBLE condition. If you can help with fixing it up, or know someone who can, it needs:
- Paint job
- Dent repair (it is VERY beat up on the outside, I don't think even one full foot of the van is free from minor to major dents)
- New passenger side front door, or repair on the door if possible (it is badly bent, and does not shut all the way. Vallori has filled the gap that is left with weather stripping foam, to at least cut down on the road noise, cold air, and possibility of bugs or critters that can get in through there)
- Driver side door external key lock doesnt work (can't lock or unlock the door from the outiside)
- New seat upholstery, or just new seats altogether (especially the bench seats, they are sagging badly, as well as torn up)
- New seatbelts. (one of the seatbelts is gone altogether, and the rest are old, and while they seem to work ok, they are an older style, and we don't fully and completely trust them.)
- Interior roof has no fabric left what so ever.
- Both driver side and passenger side front door panels aren't fully attached
- Do you have any information on free places we can camp, or great campsites that are near Phoenix and have cell reception?
- If you have old computers we might be able to fix and sell, we might be able to take them off your hands
- If you have certain items of camping gear, they might be useful to us.
