December 2011 update

Just a little update. We have been back in the concrete jungle since August 2010. Slowly but surely we have been getting our lives back on track. Kevin is gainfully employed and I've been staying at home taking care of the children, pets, and home. We make a concerted effort to help those in need as much as we can, and to continue to use many of the lessons we have learned about simplified, self sufficient, more natural, and inexpensive living. (and we keep learning more! We're so happy for the progress we made, and how well our family and relationship held up through such a difficult summer. Through my creative problem solving and Kevin's incredible brilliance, I feel like we were really able to hold up well through a time that could have gone much much worse for us. To be honest, I miss camping sometimes. It was incredibly stressful sometimes, but it was wonderful for Kevin and I to be able to spend so much time together, and with the kids. We definitely need to get back out there and do some more weekend camping soon!
